Sarah Etzel

Sarah Etzel is the Research Assistant for NCCF Co-Director Sharon Lynn Kagan. Sarah earned her B.A. in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College and her M.A. in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she concentrated on human rights, emergencies, and peacebuilding. Her research and professional interests include access to early childhood education and care (ECEC) services in humanitarian and emergency settings and fostering equitable early childhood systems globally. While at TC, Sarah worked as a technical consultant on the PlayMatters project with the International Rescue Committee and assisted on various research projects focused on teaching and learning in contexts of forced displacement. She previously worked as a pre-kindergarten and kindergarten ESL teacher in Baltimore, Maryland, which first sparked her interest in early childhood policy issues.
