Child Care and Support Services for Families on Long Island

This project aimed to identify the issues surrounding families’ access to high-quality child care and related social services on Long Island today. We conducted eight case studies of selected communities across Nassau and Suffolk counties. Results point to the barriers families face in accessing educational and social services, as well as the challenges faced by providers seeking to serve these families. We also highlight the strategies individual communities have adopted to address the service needs of families with young children.
