Examining ECD Institutional Architecture in Latin America and the Caribbean
The purpose of this project is to analyze the status of the institutional architecture in five countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, and Trinidad and Tobago) and to make policy recommendations for their improvement. Using desk reviews and site visits, graduate students are working with the IABD and Dr. Kagan to carry out the analyses. Each case study will examine approaches to governance, finance, human capacity, accountability, public will, regulation, and monitoring. Using systems theory and implementation sciences, the work will be used as part of an IADB effort focusing on early childhood development in the region.
